  A Typical Class...

A typical class consists of:
Warm-up excersises to loosen the body.
Qi Gong
Silk reeling excersises to improve movement
Work on learning or refining a Tai Chi form

Early classes concentrate on Tai Chi basics by practising the above. The first form to be studied is the first routine (Laojia Yi Lu) of old frame Chen family Tai Chi.

As more experience is gained classes expand to include push hands and work on other forms such as the second routine (Laojia Erlu) and weapons forms.

  Bristol School of Tai Chi

Wessex Tai Chi is fortunate to be an associate of the Bristol School of Tai Chi. The School's chief instructor is Ben Milton who has been practising Tai Chi for over twenty four years and is widely known in the UK and overseas. He continues to study Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong with Grand Master Chen Xiao Wang and Chen Ying Jun. He is a direct lineage disciple of Grand Master Chen Xiao Wang.

There are opportunities to attend events held by the Bristol School of Tai Chi, including seminars held by visiting teachers such Grand Master Chen Xiao Wang.

Tai Chi South West

Wessex Tai Chi also has strong links to Tai Chi South West, run by Malcolm Droy. Malcolm regularly organises weekend events in addition to his weekly classes, all of which students are encouraged to attend.
